Matthew thanked everyone that helped with the National Road Glide event held at the dealership. He also reminded everyone that nominations for Assistant Director and Secretary would be held in September.
Steve Larsen also thanked everyone for helping with the Road Glide National event. He reminded us of the Labor Day event to be held on August 30th at the Dealership. We will need volunteers to help. Tiffany showed us some great Halloween shirts that are now in stock in Motor Clothes. Everrett told us about a tire special that the Dealership has now.
Matthew shared with the group that the Road Glide event had originally been planned to be held in Tennessee, but they came to Asheville because of Helene. Matthew also talked about a Slow Skills Class on October 18th in Knoxville, TN. He’ll be providing more information as it becomes available. Matthew also spoke about the upcoming Patriot Tour. Asheville Harley Davidson is the only stop in North Carolina. On September 5th Johnson City will be bringing the flag to our Chapter, on September 6th our Chapter will be taking the flag to the Greenville HOG Chapter.
Treasurer, Steve Short, reported that there is $16,088 in the bank.
Secretary, Marcia Pruitt, shared that we’ll be selling Smoky Mountain HOG window decals for $5.00. She also asked for donations for the VA Bingo box.
Cliff Dodson spoke about the annual Toy Run to be held at TC Roberson on Friday, September 5th. We’ll meet in the Ingles parking lot on Long Shoals Rd. at 6.
Robert Schweiker, Head Road Captain, talked about July’s rides, and upcoming September rides. Please check the calendar for upcoming rides dates and times.
Safety Officer, Michael Wilson, talked about things that can affect our riding performance using the acronym, “I’m Safe.”

F – Fatigue
E- Emotion
Cara Wilson, Membership Officer, reported that we had 121 members.

Kristen Schweikert drew the winner for July’s Monthly Challenge. July’s Monthly Challenge was a Water Wheel, Matthew Mims won. August’s Monthly Challenge is a cornfield.
Sandra Mims, Activities Officer, welcomed everyone to the meeting. She spoke about the upcoming Labor Day event on August 30th. Volunteers will be needed for the kitchen, parking and ice cream. IF you volunteer for this event you will have a chance to win a $100 gift card. Sandra also spoke about some of the upcoming events – 9/27 Blue Ridge Honor Flight; October’s monthly meeting will be when we elect new officers for Assistant Director and Secretary; October is also Sock-tober for collecting socks for the VA Home; Santa Selfies will be back for this Toy Run Season; we’ll be needing lots of volunteers for the Smoky Mountain Toy Run; December 11th will be the Dirty Santa Sock party. Sandra reminded everyone that our Chapter could not do all the things that we do without each of those that volunteer.
Matthew Mims won the $37 raffle.
